i think point 3 is very important. Confronting with the majority has always been a difficult task that many people are afraid and insecure to take on because once they choose the side of the minority, they may be regarded as " alien". Some people will feel safe when they are conforming to the mainstream. They usually have a tendency to think that if the majority go to that way, it "must" be the "right" way. Getting into this kind of mentality would make them not to reflect on the issue by themselves. What a pity !
So, let's kill the loop. Get rid of this mentality.
