the talented Mr. Li

BRAND EXTENSION Patrick Li added Phillip Lim's signature stitching to gift-box ribbons.

RODARTE The references in the spring collection were a nebulous mix of California condors, wildfires and earthworks. Mr. Li singled out one element, burnt sand, which he applied to the invitations.

ALEXANDER WANG To convey a tough street vibe, Mr. Li printed the invitation on plain cardboard, which was encased in an envelope that could be ripped open with a perforated pull tab, suggesting a utilitarian edge.

PHILLIP LIM The broad appeal of Mr. Lim's collections comes with the risk of their being perceived as unexciting. Mr. Li added stitched threads to the invitation to subtly suggest that they had been made by hand.

JASON WU When Mr. Wu showed his pretty-girl collection at the St. Regis, Mr. Li wanted to evoke tradition with heavy stock trimmed with gold. He added a modern new logo to make it seem less old-fashioned.

megumi satsu!

megumi satsu (japanese: 薩 めぐみ) is an eccentric singer born in sapporo, japan living in paris since the 1970s. she had the opportunity to sing some french poems written by the famous writer and poet jacques prévert. just a few years before dying, prévert saw satsu on tv; he was fascinated by her voice and her personality. he told his wife that satsu would be perfect for interpreting some of his unedited texts. prévert's wife contacted satsu after her husband died and the things happened.
satsu was a friend of jean baudrillard, the famous french sociologist. she is also inspired by the 30s when interpreting bertold brecht in french.

Random Welcome

occupied by 'being right'

don't let yourself occupied by 'being right'.
there is no such thing as right or wrong, or mistake.
there is just process.
or it's a feeling of what you like or dislike at a particular moment,
or a certain period of time.
learn through making things.
it's easy to talk people out of idea.
even 'history' is just different ideology perspectives to the same event.
it will be a shame if you give up.
use your talent.
you have some.

什麼才是出路?how should we perceive the world?
